Biography

Once Shagufta graduates she aspires to become a lawyer in the field of civil, human rights, or criminal law at an international level.

Before coming to University of Calgary, Shagufta graduated from Sir Winston Churchill high school. Her top three achievements in high school were: being a World Vision Youth Ambassador, conducting dialogues, and partaking in the 1000 Day Journey campaign. Advocating for these issues evolved through her involvement in Model UN; being the former Creative Director and Designer of The Churchill Chronicle.; lastly, she is a certified Youth Broker from Ethno-Cultural Council of Calgary and part of the Mentorship Program, she has fostered strong friendships, embraced different cultures, and inspired her mentees to become confident leaders of tomorrow.

Shagufta explains the impact of receipt of the Chancellor’s Club Scholarship: "This scholarship will not only reduce my financial burden, but also allow me explore the world through networking and potential exchange-programs I hope to attend. It has inspired me to continue being a change-maker within my global community."
