The University of Calgary has a diverse community and the strategic vision at the Schulich School of Engineering is “Catalyst for a Connected World”, which resonates well with their core beliefs as a student who has graduated from one of the two United Nations International Schools in the world. The university also has a great repute for research and innovation, being located in the engineering capital of Canada.
Karthikeyan is enrolled in the Schulich School of Engineering. They opted to study engineering because engineering combines different aspects of science and innovation to improve the quality of peoples’ lives. After graduating as a chemical engineer, Karthikeyan wishes to work in the field of renewable energy. Since the environment affects the whole world and not just a single community, they will devote their training to research cleaner alternatives to fossil fuels. Karthikeyan is honored that the University has chosen them for the International Entrance Scholarship. This scholarship will help them to concentrate on their studies and pursue their passion for community service and extracurricular activities in Calgary.
