Cynthia G.
Chancellor's Scholarship
Biography
Cynthia is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Music with a focus on vocal performance. She chose this program because she is passionate about both psychology and singing, and wants to continue to study both in academia. Her goal is to become a clinical adolescent psychologist, developing diagnostic treatment programs for young people with emotional dysregulation. She is also interested in pursuing a career in professional singing, either in opera or on Broadway.
Cynthia graduated from Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary, AB. While in high school, her top three achievements were her successful examination for and receiving her Associate Diploma in Vocal Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, completing the IB Diploma Programme, and serving as a student representative on the Principal’s Advisory Council at her high school.
Because of the flexible degree programs, Cynthia chose to study at the University of Calgary to pursue both of her paths of interest, psychology and classical voice. She also really liked the residence accommodations available to students on campus.
Cynthia is so grateful for and excited to have received the Chancellor’s Club Scholarship. This award will take some of the financial burden of higher education off of her shoulders and enable her to engage in a great variety of opportunities in university.
