Biography
Avartha is enrolled as a student in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with hopes to pursue Mechanical Engineering. Whenever he comes across disruptive ideas that challenge principles and break barriers, he craves deeper understanding. This inspired Avartha to pursue engineering. He believes that studying Mechanical Engineering will equip him to develop as an innovative engineer to fulfill his life goal of having at least one successful patent under his name that can serve humanity.
Avartha graduates from the Indian High School in Dubai, UAE. During his high school years, his top three achievements were getting a 95.4% in his CBSE board examination for the India Senior School Certificate, attending the summer program of the National Student Leadership Conference - which is an extraordinary leadership program in engineering, and achieving 5/5 in AP Chemistry & Calculus.
The top notch education provided at nominal tuition fees is what drew Avartha to UCalgary. The merit scholarships and the engineering internship programs at the university will make his time spent in school financially more manageable, and allow him time to concentrate on academics to fulfill his dreams. It encourages Avartha that the participation of international students in education and research are priorities for the University of Calgary. The Engineering Leadership Program, the Schulich Activities Fund and the Student Union’s support for international students will help his overall, holistic progression during his undergraduate studies.
This prestige award will support Avartha to concentrate on his studies by relaxing financial burden & assist him in launching his career by providing opportunities for practical work experience during his degree. Apart from academics, he will keep up on his amateur guitar playing, playing Rock & Pop.
