Biography
Alia is enrolled in the Engineering Program, at the Schulich School of Engineering. She chose engineering because she is passionate about problem solving, math, and physics. She hopes to start a career as an engineer, and eventually take on more leadership positions within the corporate world.
Alia graduated from Delia School in Delia, Alberta. During her high school years, her top three achievements were: getting to speak as valedictorian of her graduating class, founding a Bocce Ball for All league in her local community, and receiving the highest overall grades in her graduating class.
In choosing where to go to University, Alia was drawn to the prestigious standing of the engineering program at the University of Calgary, as well as the environment and campus culture that the University of Calgary provides for students.
The Prestige Award will make a massive impact on Alia’s financial situation during her years of university, as well as provide extra motivation for her to remain involved in community service and leadership while pursuing her studies.
