Biography

Nayana Williams graduated from Hampton School in Malvern, Jamaica. While there, she won numerous awards for CXC examinations including the HOGA Award for Top CSEC Performer and the Glendese Miller Award for Top Performance in Pure Mathematics. She also volunteered through different clubs to make donations to Mount Osborn Primary School, the Cancer Society of Jamaica, and the Santa Cruz Infirmary. Additionally, she managed to overcome procrastination.

Nayana chose to study at UCalgary because of its stellar academic history and a vibrant social life that provides her with a sense of community while away from home.

Nayana is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program, majoring in Actuarial Science. She chose this program due to her passion for math.

Nayana hopes to attain a fellowship with the Society of Actuaries.

For Nayana, the Prestige Award will positively impact her ability to focus on the path to becoming an actuary without the financial barrier.
