Jenna K.

Jenna graduated from Eagle Butte High School in Dunmore, AB. While there, she achieved a 100% on her Chemistry and Physics diploma exams. She was also a member of a high school pit band where we worked together on a successful production of Elf: The Musical. Finally, she graduated valedictorian of her class.

Jenna chose to study at UCalgary because she believed that the engineering program is one of the best in the country. She’s also had many family members who attended and graduated from the university previously, and this made her excited to carry on a family legacy.

Jenna is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. She chose to pursue engineering as she believed it was the best way for her to combine her love for math and science with her desire to innovate to create a positive impact in the world.

Jenna hopes to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering so she can work alongside other healthcare professionals to improve medical technology that will change lives.

For Jenna, receiving the Prestige Award has allowed her to focus on her studies and extracurriculars while adjusting to living on her own in a new city. She has also been able to connect with many like-minded individuals through the Scholar’s community.

Jenna is excited to grow her knowledge of many different topics. She is particularly interested in the biomedical field and biotechnology.
