Biography

Danika graduated from Windsor Secondary School in North Vancouver, BC. While there, she was president of the Interact Club, where she led dozens of events that raised funds and awareness for local and global causes. She also channeled her love for music by volunteering her time teaching and assisting junior bands during class, trips, and competitions.  Additionally, she spent time as a junior instructor for kid's STEM summer camps where she could share her passion for science, math, and learning.

Danika chose UCalgary because of its positive and lively environment, as well as the many opportunities it has to offer. She enjoys that UCalgary supports entrepreneurship and new ideas.

Danika is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. She chose this program because of her love for math and science, her curiosity to find out how and why things work, and her desire to invent and create a better future.

For Danika, the Prestige Award allows her the freedom to explore her interests and extracurricular activities while will pay off in additional skills, experience, and better connections, which will help her in the future.

Danika became interested in computers and electronics after building a PC. She’s excited to learn more about the Internet of Things as well as the future of technology.

Danika would like to thank her friends and family for all the small ways they support her. She would especially like to thank her Mom for being as invested in her university applications as Danika was.
