She also saw that UCalgary would provide her with the skills, knowledge, and support that would aid her in reaching her academic and career goals.

Chinenye is enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program, majoring in Psychology. She chose this program because she wants to improve her understanding of environmental and biological influences on behavior and use this knowledge to provide solutions to real-world problems.

Chinenye hopes to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist, specializing in children and adolescents, to address mental health issues affecting youth.

For Chinenye, the Prestige Award allows her to fully focus on her studies and on being involved in her community without having to worry about finances. It has also provided her with a student community and opportunities for mentorship and volunteering which she is very grateful for.
