Biography
Cameron graduated from Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer, AB. While he was there, he won 1st place as Top Academic Student, 2nd place as Top All-Around Student, and was a Cross Country Provincial Qualifier.
Cameron chose UCalgary because it is one of the top universities in Canada for engineering. He appreciates the co-op program, enabling him to gain industry experience with long-term projects while developing relationships in the industry. He was also drawn to the high-quality sports facilities, teams, and opportunities for a meaningful student experience.
Cameron is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program because of his passion for using his problem-solving skills and critical thinking to produce innovative ideas and apply them to real-world situations so that he can play a role in shaping the future.
Cameron wants to specialize in Chemical Engineering with a background in Digital Engineering. He plans to use these specializations to be an innovative entrepreneur and consultant for various companies around the world.
For Cameron, the Prestige Award provides financial relief on tuition and residence costs. It allows him to focus on academics, participate in extracurricular activities including the Leadership Program and hockey, and experience university life to the fullest.
Cameron is excited to learn about the engineering design process and how the combination of engineering and technology can improve society.
