Seymour Schulich Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship for Calgary Area Residents

Arianna H

Arianna graduated from Western Canada High School in Calgary, AB. During her time there, she received a full IB Diploma with 7’s in Sciences and Math, was a private piano teacher, and was the Club Executive for the Biology Olympiad Club, Math Club, and the School Biology Journal.

Arianna chose UCalgary because it offers more teaching and design resources to its students. She finds there are many opportunities to get involved in different clubs. She wants to build her technical expertise and academic knowledge, and she finds UCalgary creates an environment to do that.

Arianna is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. She chose this program because she enjoys the challenge of math, physics, and engineering courses. She wants to gain hands-on expertise on design and building.

In the future, Arianna hopes to apply for medical school or continue with a biomedical-related degree.

Arianna is excited to learn about how we can replicate parts of the body with technology and how the human body reacts to mechanical loads. She finds the intersection between technology and biology new and exciting and hopes to make big contributions to it one day.
