Schulich Leader Scholarship

Albert K

Albert graduated from Harry Ainlay High School in Edmonton, AB. While there, he received the Member of Parliament Youth Leadership Award in recognition of outstanding community involvement and leadership. He was also an Edmonton Minor Soccer Association City Finals gold medalist and took First Place in the Schulich Ignite Programming Competition by creating a game using object-oriented programming.

Albert chose UCalgary because it promotes innovation and has many opportunities to be involved on or off campus. He sees Calgary as a vibrant city with huge potential to be a source of sustainable technology.

Albert is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program because he is passionate about designing and implementing solutions to complex problems.

Albert wants to use his education to develop sustainable engineering solutions to real-world problems, such as improving efficiencies in the industry, enhancing automation, or developing innovative designs to reduce waste and costs.

For Albert, winning the Schulich Leaders Scholarship allows him to pursue innovative projects and continue giving back to his community without worrying about financing his education.

Albert’s research interests include process optimization and automation. He would also like to improve current designs and integrate software in the design and analysis processes.

Albert is grateful to the Schulich Leader Scholarship Foundation and UCalgary for the fantastic opportunity.
