Biography

Natalie graduated from Robert Thirsk High School in Calgary, AB. While there, she attained Exemplary with Distinction status with an average of over 95% throughout high school. Also, she was awarded her school’s greatest honour: the Thirsk Award in Grades 10, 11, and 12 for enriching school culture and demonstrating citizenship, character, and leadership. Additionally, she served as co-captain of her junior and senior high school volleyball teams, receiving junior and senior team MVPs, while competing on a highly competitive club team and was nominated twice for Team Alberta.

Natalie chose to study at UCalgary because of the progressive energy that permeates the university resulting in its unyielding commitment to innovation and discoveries. She is excited about the combination of theory and experiential learning through leadership development, courses focused on entrepreneurial thinking, and access to highly competitive case competitions that present unique learning experiences, as well as opportunities to collaborate with some of the brightest and most resourceful minds. She is seeking transformative experiences inside and outside the classroom and believed this is possible through the inspirational environment and collaborative research culture at UCalgary.

Natalie is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting program at Haskayne School of Business. She chose this program because she is interested in pursuing a career in corporate or tax law.

For Natalie, the Prestige Award allows her to concentrate on striving for academic excellence while pursuing opportunities for hands-on experiences through UCalgary’s leadership activities and extracurriculars.

Natalie is excited to explore her passions and interests through endeavours such as becoming a student innovator in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, competing in exciting case competitions, and pursuing a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
