Awards and Scholarships

Annika graduated from Heritage Christian Online School in Kelowna, BC. While there, she competed at the BC Provincial Performing Arts Festival, taught children’s dance classes at her dance studio, and lead youth programs at her church.

Annika chose to study at UCalgary because of its outstanding engineering program and vibrant student community. She hopes to become involved in one of the Schulich School of Engineering’s student-run clubs and participate in its internship program. Additionally, she has family connections to the university as both of her parents are alumni of the Schulich School of Engineering.

Annika is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science – Engineering program. She chose engineering because of her passion for mathematics, science, and computer programming. She was particularly drawn to the problem-solving aspect of the engineering program.

Annika plans on pursuing electrical engineering, as she feels this will allow her to combine her passions for programming and hardware. She has yet to decide on her future career plans, but her interest lies in the aerospace industry.

Annika is most excited to learn about electrical systems.
