Safer Substance Use: Harm Reduction
Learn tools to reduce stigma toward people who use substances.

In this training, you'll learn:
- about the harm reduction approach.
- strategies for reducing harms related to substance and alcohol use.
- to recognize and respond to overdose.
- about stigma and the continuum of consumption and behaviour.
Naloxone training and kits will also be provided following the workshops. If you are unable to attend the Safer Substance Use: Harm Reduction 101 workshop, but would like to receive the naloxone training and kit, contact Student Wellness Services at 403-220-9355.

This 1-hour workshop will explore:
- Harm Reduction as an overall approach.
- Strategies for safer substance use related to alcohol and cannabis.
- Supports and resources both on- and off-campus
This training is open to current students, faculty, and staff at the University of Calgary.
Winter 2024 Training Dates:
Thursday, February 15 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm (Virtual)
Thursday, March 21 from 12:30pm – 2:30pm (In Person, includes Naloxone Training)
