Contemporary Calgary

YYC-LRT is a project that brings together researchers from the University of Calgary with Contemporary Calgary to provide visitors with an intimate and approachable experience of contemporary art. Many of the workshops and events at YYC/LRT link to exhibitions at Contemporary Calgary, and the work that participants create is often exhibited there.

Check out what’s going on at Contemporary Calgary today, and buy a membership! They are only $20 for a whole year (5 cups of coffee) and gives you free admission to the shows and events!

When visiting YYC/LRT you can stop by Loophole Coffee Bar to grab one of the best cups of java you’ll find in the city! While there, take a moment to enjoy the current exhibition of a community artist’s work that they will have on display.

Sigla Books

A not-so-hidden treasure, Sigla Books, located next to Loophole Coffee Bar, provides book lovers of Calgary a special place for discovery. Owner David Sidjak welcomes visitors to the shop and will generously offer you a comfy chair and conversation.
