Biography

Sunaina is commencing her fourth year of studies, pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. Her primary interest lies in the application of technology in medical treatment. Sunaina's technical experience thus far has been focused on volunteering and engaging in research projects related to human mobility. Going forward, her ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of innovative medical products in some capacity.
 
Sunaina has actively participated in various aspects of university life, including volunteering initiatives, research endeavours, clubs, and student-led teams. She has held leadership positions such as President of the Uddering Engineers podcast team and Vice President Academic of the Biomedical Engineering Students' Society. Additionally, Sunaina has been involved in fundraising activities for the Ugandan Girls' Foundation through her participation in MACASI (Make a Change Africa Scholarship Initiative) and taken on a leadership role within the Biomechanical Systems Team of BMERIT (Biomedical Engineering Research and Innovation Team). Alongside these commitments, she has also volunteered at Foothills Medical Center and actively pursued research opportunities in the field of peadiatric care; presenting her work at local, provincial and international conferences.
 
Beyond academic pursuits, Sunaina thoroughly enjoys travel. Having been born in the U.A.E. and having studied in various parts of the world, including South Korea, the United States, and Australia, her experiences have allowed her to immerse herself in diverse cultures from a young age. In her leisure time, she finds pleasure in playing the piano and engaging in multimedia projects.
