As an immigrant in Calgary, He juggled his academics and extra-curricular activities whilst acting as a legal guardian for his younger brother. In addition to his experiences as a traveler and a guardian, Haidar nearly lost his life at the age of 6, when an Earthquake struck his hometown and destroyed his house, burying him and his 2 brothers under the rubble.
