I was always interested in availing new opportunities with an eventual goal of fulfilling my parents dream of me having a successful career. Haskayne School of Business provided me with an environment to grow personally as well as professionally. The blend of knowledgeable professors, extra-curricular opportunities, as well as the extensive pool of like-minded people helped me to discover the best out of myself. Through my early days of post-secondary education, I was working night shifts as a Security Guard, and even when I had to patrol outside in the harsh winters of Winnipeg, I knew that one day I will be proud of my hard work. Today, I am extremely blessed to have been selected as a Scholars Academy member at the University of Calgary. This selection could not have come at a better time for me as after 6 months of continuous hard work, application submissions, and interviews, I recently landed an Accounting co-op opportunity at ATCO. Adding to the excitement, I am thrilled to announce that I have also secured an summer internship for next year at KPMG, one of the big four accounting firms.
 
Looking back to my journey in Canada in the last couple of years, I can truly say that if one wants to achieve something and have full commitment, nothing can stop them. I am excited to begin this new chapter of my life and hope to learn rich life skills from some amazing scholars in this program.
