Biography

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn!"

My pathway to studying kinesiology at U of C was forged through my lifelong passion for science and my love for physical activity developed through my experiences as an elite athlete. Among other things, I competed in alpine ski racing, and spent my last 2 years skiing with the UCalgary Dinos Ski Team, earning multiple podium finishes.

While I am no longer racing, I continue to feed my passion for sport and apply my knowledge of exercise science through coaching- I coach ski racing with the Banff Alpine Racers, as well as strength/conditioning for youth athletes in a variety of sports at Bouka Performance. I’m an instructor-in-training with the Thrive Centre, which runs exercise programming for individuals living with cancer, and I’m a CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer. My favourite part about coaching is that I learn as much from the people I work with as they do from me- it provides constant motivation to keep growing and is incredibly rewarding.

In the future, I’ll get my Exercise Physiologist certification so that I can continue supporting athletes to their full potential. Eventually, I’d like to take my “exercise is medicine” philosophy to the next level by becoming a doctor, and using my background in kinesiology/sport to promote access to and awareness of healthier lifestyles for all.

When I’m not at work or school, I can usually be found in the mountains skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or rock climbing! I also enjoy working out, dancing, playing sports, traveling, and trying new recipes.
