Biography

“Things will work out - maybe just not the way you plan” - Rick Riordan

Freeha is extremely passionate about neuroscience, with her primary interest being in mental health. Some of the mental health work she does involves her research at the Alberta Children's Hospital studying correlations between grey matter volume and ADHD symptoms in preschool children. She is also a member of the Research Advisory Council at Calgary's new child and adolescent mental health centre (The Summit), has been a mental health peer supporter in a course, and has leadership roles in other non-profit organizations working towards improving mental health in Calgary.

Some of her other work involves meta-analytic research on workplace mistreatment, co-chairing committees for the Chancellor Ambassador's club, mentoring other students via various non-profit organizations, writing articles for The Gauntlet, and more.

In the future, Freeha hopes to pursue medical school or pharmacy school for clinical work, followed by a PhD. She hopes to ultimately contribute more knowledge to the field of mental health through neuroimaging or pharmacogenomic research.

In her spare time, Freeha enjoys reading and writing. She also occasionally plays video games, and loves rewatching her favourite sitcoms.
