Biography

"Be the person your dog thinks you are"

Erik is an energetic student pursuing a degree in chemical engineering with a minor in energy and environmental engineering. He is looking to be involved in decarbonizing our planet and upon graduating he is looking for a career in either carbon capture, hydrogen, or nuclear technologies. Anyone who has met Erik knows how much he enjoys his current program, but he derives great joy from his extra-curricular activities outside of the classroom.
Erik recently finished being the President of the Chemical and Oil & Gas Engineering Students' Society (CESS), the Trip Director for the Energy and Environmental Engineering Students' Association (EEESA), and a Separations Team Member for the Industrial Design Club. He encourages all students to get involved with teams and clubs as they have given him some of his favourite memories so far.

Outside of school, Erik is a passionate runner and looks forward to each semester finishing so he has more time on the trails. When spending time with his family and friends he will often suggest a walk through a park. If that park happens to be a dog park, he will claim it's just a coincidence. Erik is also involved with the Huntington's Disease Youth Organization as an ambassador to better help young people who are affected by Huntington's Disease.
