- Cross the push leg in front of the lead leg, and cross the push leg behind the lead leg.
- Can be done with push steps alternating front and behind, or can be done will all steps forward or all steps behind
- Soft bend at hips and knees
- Knees stacked over ankle
- Toes, knees and hips facing forward relative to trunk position
- Absorb landing from ball of the foot to heel
- Knee caving in on change of direction
- Cue “Knee over pinky toe”
- Turning hips or shoulders towards direction of movement
- Cue “Square to line”
- Increases heart and breathing rates
- Movement in the frontal plane (sideways)
- Incorporates a change of direction movement
- Challenges coordination of the arm & leg
