Dr. Bob Schulz

Biography

Dr. Bob Schulz is a Professor with the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary for the past 49 years. He has received 26 outstanding teaching and service awards, including top-10 teaching professor among 39,000 Canadian professors in all disciplines, and was the first recipient of the Order of the University of Calgary. He has four degrees, including a BSc (Engineering) from Notre Dame and Ph.D. in Business from Ohio State. As a coach, his students have won > 120 national and international competitions—likely a global record.


Bob has been an angel investor, director, and/or advisor/mentor for more than 30 public or private companies, many involving technology companies founded by former students. He is well-known as a “superconnector”, on the Global Board for the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI), and a Board member of RoboGarden.


Dr. Mohamed Elhabiby:

Biography

Dr. Elhabiby is a goal-driven business professional with strong R&D industrial experience, continually recognized for impressive contributions to strategy definition and execution, process improvements, and special assignments in terms of jump-starting new businesses and building best-in-class organizations, shaping a culture that emphasizes health, safety, and family first so that employees feel appreciated and supported.
Dr. Elhabiby is the Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Micro Engineering Tech Inc., located in Calgary, Alberta. Elhabiby leads the team in developing digital transformation for the energy industry for mega brownfields facilities in Canada and Egypt. He received both his Ph.D. in Geomatics Engineering in 2006 and Executive MBA with finance major in 2017 from the University of Calgary. He won the Alberta Science and Technology Foundation (ASTech) Award in Applied technology 2015. He is named by Avenue Magazine as one of the Top 40 under 40 2013 class.
He was the Chair of WG 4.1.4: Imaging Techniques, Sub-Commission 4.1 at the International Association of Geodesy. He chaired the Geocomputations and Cyber-infrastructure session at the Canadian Geophysical Union annual meeting for five consecutive years (2008 – 2012). He was the Treasure of the Geodesy Section at the Canadian Geophysical Union for six years (2008-2014). He was a leader of an Archaeological mission at the Area of Great Pyramids, Cairo, Egypt. He published more than 150 academic journals, conference presentations, book Chapters, workshop proceedings and technical reports. He supervised several Ph.D. and MSc. Students and Post Doctorate Fellows in both Academia and Industry.
