The mission of Student Accessibility Services is to work collaboratively and innovatively with the campus community to create an accessible, equitable and supportive learning environment that enhances each student's academic and personal development.
Our office is open to Prospective students (meaning those students who are considering attending the University of Calgary and wish to learn more about registering with our office as well as those students who are currently at the University of Calgary but not registered with SAS), Current students (those students who are currently enrolled at the University of Calgary and registered with our service), at either the Undergraduate or Graduate level and to Continuing Education students.
Instructors can consult frequently asked questions, learn more about supporting students with disabilities, and find suggestions for creating accessible course materials.
The Student Accessibility Services office is currently open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday to Friday.
Advising appointments: Advising appointments are currently being conducted as a mix of in-person and remote meetings. Please contact the office for more information on appointments.
Registering with SAS:
It can take time to organize academic accommodations and funding for disability-related services. As there are deadlines to receive accommodations each semester, a prospective student is strongly encouraged to begin the SAS registration process as early in the semester as possible. For more information on the registration process, please see How To Register and/or contact SAS.
Student Accessibility Services uses a data management and test administration system called ClockWork.
ClockWork will use the Preferred Name indicated in your Student Centre on the Letter of Accommodation. For information on updating your name, please consult this page: Updating Your Personal Information.
