Destiny is a graduate student working towards a Master of Science in Kinesiology under the supervision of Dr. Carolyn Emery and Dr. Kathryn Schneider. Destiny graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelors in Kinesiology in May 2020, where she played on the varsity women’s soccer team. There, she spent much of her time focusing on exercise science and working with various populations within the community to get them active and promote healthy lifestyles. Particularly, she was involved with the varsity football, soccer and hockey teams as head student strength and conditioning coach. She also received Academic All-Canadian in 2020, given to a varsity athlete with outstanding academic achievement while playing their sport.  

Her current research focuses on neuromuscular training, the implementation of concussion specific awareness and prevention in youth soccer, and the adoption / uptake of injury prevention methods to reduce risk of injury. When not in the lab, Destiny enjoys exploring Alberta, playing soccer and hiking.
