Understanding the Epidemiology of Injury in Canadian Youth Volleyball
For an injury prevention program to work, it is important to first understand who is getting injured and why. Youth volleyball players in Canada often play year-round with no off-season, and although there is no purposeful contact between athletes, concussions still happen. This study will aim to provide insight into the various injuries that occur across multiple volleyball seasons.
Canadian volleyball players are asked to recall injury and training information from the previous calendar year. This will assist in determining what player qualities alter the risk of getting injured (including concussion) while playing volleyball.
Who is participating?
