UCeed Neuro was launched thanks to a $2.5 million USD investment from the T. Boone Pickens Foundation as part of a remarkable $12.5 million USD legacy gift to the Hotchkiss Brain Institute from the late entrepreneur and philanthropist, T. Boone Pickens.
UCeed accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
Investment and fund eligibility
Investment
$50,000 up to $300,000
Criteria
- Applicant must have an established relationship with the University of Calgary as a current, past or visiting faculty member, a student, or has licensed or assigned intellectual property developed at the University of Calgary
- For-profit enterprise
- Technology Readiness Level (TRL): Stage 1-9
- Must be incorporated prior to receipt of funds
- Minimum one (1) full-time employee within six (6) months of UCeed investment
