Mary Valentich

Biography

Mary is a Professor Emerita in the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. A social worker, activist, sex educator and sex therapist, private practitioner, and author, she has played many roles over her 50 year career. Her special areas of interest have been feminist social work practice and human sexuality. More recently, she is engaged in assisted dying, climate change and civic engagement. Throughout her career, she has been on the forefront of changes in significant areas of practice and community initiatives.
