Dr. Jean Addington

Biography

Jean Addington, Ph.D. is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. She holds the Novartis Chair for Schizophrenia Research. Her research interests are in early detection and intervention in psychosis and early prevention of serious mental illness. Her work has made significant contributions to the understanding and development of preventative strategies and early intervention in psychiatry, especially for young people at risk of developing psychosis and other serious mental illnesses. Currently her major research focus is the examination of predictors and mechanisms of the transition to psychosis and the development of psychosocial interventions for those who are at risk of developing psychosis.
