Biography

Jaspreet Singh was a summer law student at Bennett Jones LLP in the Calgary office, gaining hands-on experience of researching and evaluating corporate legal issues for clients. Prior to law school, Jaspreet completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Hons.) majoring in health and society and a Master of Public Policy, both from the University of Calgary. Her undergraduate thesis looked at the health outcomes of immigrant populations in Calgary. Her master’s thesis analyzed the legal impacts of the Bedford decision on sex work laws in Canada, and evaluated policy solutions from other jurisdictions for their effectiveness and applicability into Canada’s constitutional context. Jaspreet worked at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce as a policy analyst, advocating for the needs of Calgary’s business community to all levels of government. She interned with the Canada West Foundation performing policy research on methods of economic development and trade growth for Western Canadian provinces. She is an active member of the community, with volunteering experience for Pro Bono Students Canada and the Canadian Hunger Foundation.
