Perkin Elmer TGA - STA 6000
Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is a widely employed technique for measuring the change in weight of a sample as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. TGA is reliable equipment for the kinetic studies. The DSC signal measures endothermic and exothermic transitions (e.g. polymorphism, melting, crystallization, etc.) of biomass. - This instrument has simultaneous analysis of TG with DTA mode (dT) and DSC (mW) mode for fast enhanced result interpretation - Operating temperature is 15 to 1000oC, and heating rate is 0.1 to 100oC/min
High Pressure TGA - Thermax 500
The TherMax 500 system specializes in demanding applications where high temperatures, pressures, and aggressive atmospheres are required. Pressure can be used to enhance or speed up reactions.
The TherMax 500 Pressure TGA can measure samples in a controlled environment. Pressures up to 100 bar and temperatures up to 1000 °C are not a problem, even in an aggressive atmosphere. The system incorporates a pressure control system consisting of mass flow controllers for three gases, back pressure regulator, pressure transducer, flow switches and solenoid valves. The 38mm diameter reactor tube and the high mass balance guarantee the capability of not only high weight measurements, but high volume as well.
- 100 grams sample capacity
- 35 mL sample volume, and under various reaction environments, including corrosive and flammable gases.
- From 10-4 torr to 100 bar.

TGA Analyzer (TG-209 F1 Libra)
Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is a widely employed technique for measuring the change in weight of a sample as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. TGA is reliable equipment for the kinetic studies. This instrument has simultaneous analysis of TG with DTA mode (dT) and DSC (mW) mode.
TGA-FTIR (PE TGA8000 and Septrum 2 FTIR)
A sample is heated in the TGA, whereby, it decomposes and releases volatile materials and/or gaseous components. TGA provides quantitative information but does not provide information on what the decomposition products are concurrent to the weight loss. Because of its ability to detect functional groups in gas-phase, IR analysis allows greater understanding of the processes seen in the TGA. These gases Thermogravimetric properties are recorded and are then transferred to the IR cell via a high-fidelity transfer system where the components can be further characterized/identified.

Perkin Elmer Clarus 400
Gas chromatography - specifically gas-liquid chromatography - involves a sample being vaporized and injected onto the head of the chromatographic column. The sample is transported through the column by the flow of inert, gaseous mobile phase. The column itself contains a liquid stationary phase which is adsorbed onto the surface of an inert solid. GC is used in separating and analyzing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition.
