Maitland Martin is a MSc graduate student working under Dr. Carolyn Emery. She started her degree at the University of Calgary in 2014 before transferring and graduating from the University of Winnipeg with a BSc in Kinesiology and a major in athletic therapy in 2019. She then moved to Vail, CO, and worked under Dr. Marc J. Philippon, collaborating on orthopedic hip, shoulder, and ACL research. Maitland grew up in Switzerland where her dad played professional hockey and has been an active participant in sports her whole life and since graduating, has worked with high performance sport as both an athletic therapist and strength and conditioning coach. During her time in SIPRC, Maitland hopes to investigate the prevalence of femoroacetabular impingement in youth sport participants, particularly hockey.
