Jocelyn McCallum

Jocelyn is a MSc student and Certified Athletic Therapist working under Dr. Amanda Black and Dr. Carolyn Emery in the area of sport-related concussion. Originally from Vancouver, BC, she moved to Calgary to pursue her Bachelor of Health & Physical Education from Mount Royal University. Jocelyn has worked primarily with varsity sports including men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, cross-country, softball, and wrestling. She is also a NCCP certified coach and registered yoga teacher.
As an athletic therapist, Jocelyn noticed the high rate of concussion amongst varsity athletes and wanted to grow her knowledge and research ways to help athletes recover and prevent subsequent injury. Her research interests involve the role of sleep in concussion recovery.
