Emma Oczkowski headshot

Emma is a MSc student co-supervised by Dr. Kathryn Schneider in the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre and Dr. Chantel Debert in the Brain NeuroRehabilitation Lab. She completed her BSc. (Honours) in Kinesiology at St. Francis Xavier University in 2025, where she examined the use of Vestibular Oculomotor Screenings following sport-related concussion. During her time out East, she was a member of the StFX field hockey and rowing teams and held a position on the executive committee for ‘motionball for Special Olympics’. Her MSc research focuses on sport-related concussion recovery, examining how rehabilitation timing influences recovery outcomes in elite rugby players. She is also involved in a project exploring psychologically informed rehabilitation for mild traumatic brain injury recovery. Outside the lab, Emma enjoys hiking, skiing, golfing, exploring the mountains, playing cards with friends, and trying new sports/activities!
