PhD Candidate

Alyssa joined the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre as a visiting PhD student in September 2023 and has been part of the lab ever since. She is currently completing her PhD at Queen’s University where she also completed her MSc in Kinesiology and Health Studies under the supervision of Dr. Amy Latimer-Cheung. Her research brings together her two lab environments by combining disability scholarship with concussion and injury epidemiology to better understand and prevent injuries and concussions in Para sport.

Outside of the lab, Alyssa enjoys experimenting with new recipes, exploring the Rocky Mountains, and spending time with friends. She is also the head coach of the Junior Venom Para ice hockey team in Calgary, where she gets to see her research in action.
