Biography

A 2016 graduate from St. Mary’s High School in Calgary, Alberta, Claire D. enrolled as a Biomedical Sciences major in the Faculty of Health Sciences. 

Claire’s passion for learning and intellectual challenges led to her achieving continuous honour roll status over her high school years. She’s a recipient of the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship, 2016 St. Mary’s Alumni Association - Female Student of the Year Scholarship, Chancellor M. Ann McCaig Scholarship, and the university’s President’s Admission Scholarship.

In addition to Claire’s strong academic focus and achievements, she’s actively embraced leadership roles such as co-president of her student council. Her strong appreciation for her culture also led her to become president of her high school’s Italian Club. She also volunteered at the Calgary Italian School, where she could educate others about Italian language and history.

Claire’s interests also extend into the athletic arena where she played competitive soccer for 13 years, and helped lead her school soccer team to a Division 1 City Championship win in the fall of 2015. She enjoys living an active lifestyle and  participates in sports such as tennis, basketball, golf, and waterskiing.

Above all, Claire values time spent with family, travelling, cooking, and summer vacations at Christina Lake in B.C.
