Bone Imaging Lab

The Bone Imaging Laboratory was established in 2004 at the University of Calgary by Dr. Steven Boyd. We are a team of researchers investigating bone and joint injuries using a multi-disciplinary approach involving engineers, clinicians and scientists.

Our team includes faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and undergraduate researchers. We develop novel quantitative approaches to understanding (a) why knee injuries often lead to osteoarthritis, (b) how bones adapt in a joint injury, (c) what happens to the skeleton in space, (d) how can we predict if somebody has osteoporosis and (e) how we can predict fractures, and much more.

Please take a look around and feel free to contact us if you have questions. Thinking of joining us?
